Editorial verdict

SANS Security Awareness brings the most technically rigorous and practitioner-authored content in the SAT category. The SANS Institute's reputation for training active security professionals translates into awareness content that is more technically accurate and more current than vendor-produced alternatives. The SCORM portability for use in any existing LMS is also the strongest in the category.

The phishing simulation depth and program automation are less advanced than KnowBe4 or Hoxhunt. SANS is a content and LMS specialist, not a full SAT platform with campaign automation.

The verdict: SANS Security Awareness is right for organisations with existing LMS infrastructure that want the most technically rigorous and portably compliant security content available. Organisations wanting full campaign automation and phishing simulation should evaluate KnowBe4 or Hoxhunt.
