Editorial verdict

WALLIX Bastion has built a strong position in European enterprise environments, backed by ANSSI qualification, the highest French government security certification, and Common Criteria EAL3 plus. The session monitoring capability, particularly for UNIX/Linux environments, is genuinely strong and reflects the product's heritage as a session management specialist.

The limitation is global reach. WALLIX's support infrastructure, customer base, and ecosystem integrations are primarily European. DevOps secrets management and cloud-native PAM are less mature than US-headquartered competitors. Organisations outside Europe will find less reference customer validation and narrower support options.

The verdict: WALLIX is right for European enterprises, particularly French government and defence organisations, where ANSSI qualification is a requirement and UNIX/Linux session management is the primary use case. Non-European organisations should evaluate CyberArk, BeyondTrust, or Delinea.
